Concertina Books

I wanted to look at concertina books to try and generate some ideas for how I could go about making mine. I chose these examples because they manage to look professional while maintaining a hand crafted feel. They all convey the skill and time that it has taken to make them. The book becomes a work of art itself, the book takes on a form that transforms the illustrations into an intriguing 3d object. Some of these books use intricate paper cutting to add another dimension to the work but I really like the simple concertina books make from high quality materials with beautifully crafted illustrations and prints. Finishing touches on the cover like patterns or ties add to the appeal of the books but could distract attention form the illustrations if they are not well thought out.
