BBC brief research- Edinburgh International Festival

The Edinburgh International Festival is made up of a range of different events including theatre, dance, music, opera, workshops and a firework display. The festival is held at a number of venues over 3 weeks. Graeme McNee is an illustrator that has been commissioned to create illustrated comic strips of the events in the past. The illustrations are quick and playful with a simple colour scheme that is used throughout all of his work for the festival and matches the colour scheme of the festivals branding. The main venues are Edinburgh Playhouse, Festival Theatre, The Hub, King's Theatre, Greyfriar's Kirk, The Lyceum, The Queen's Hall, Ross, Theatre and Usher Hall, these iconic buildings could be part of the illustrations for the app. I would like to use the festivals colour scheme and show the creativity and entertainment through the illustrations as well.
